Oatmeal made overnight in jar
Carole Kuhrt Brewer, a longtime Chicago TV, print and online journalist, is also a terrific cook who often uses veggies and herbs from her own garden, prefers organic ingredients and makes her own yogurt. She also believes in starting the day with a good breakfast. Among her favorite, easy-to-do breakfasts is oatmeal she made by starting it the night before so all that is needed in the morning is to warm it in winter or eat it cold, similar to a dessert, in summer. She does not follow a measured out recipe but as with Julia Child, estimates and tastes. She also likes to use jars as containers
