2. Chefs join in Trotter Guest Chef Dinner Series to honor Charlie Trotter
When: May 30 & 31st
What: The event is part of the ongoing efforts to celebrate and preserve Trotter’s culinary legacy by his son Dylan Trotter, with a series featuring acclaimed guest chefs. It will feature a menu inspired by Trotter’s iconic dishes.
Who: Chef Simpson of The Chef’s Garden join chefs Nancy Silverton (Mozza, LA), Giancarla Bodoni (Monteverdi, Tuscany) and Tony Priolo (Piccolo Sogno, Chicago). The Chef’s Garden will supply fresh produce for both dinners.
Where: The tribute dinners take place in the former Charlie Trotter’s space in Lincoln Park, and will feature a menu inspired by Trotter’s iconic dishes. This event offers a unique opportunity for guests to experience the flavors and philosophies that defined Trotter’s culinary vision.
“At The Chef’s Garden, there is a profound sense of importance surrounding Chef Charlie Trotter and his impact—not just on the farm, but on the entire culinary world,” said Simpson who worked to help Dylan Totter reopen the Charlie Trotter’s restaurant space. “A chef serving vegetarian tasting menus in the early 90s was incredibly progressive. He changed the way we eat, and we still use little techniques of his every single day in our kitchen.
